We support teachers & students with their musical endeavors within the schools by:
*Schedule and coordinate the New West Symphony MUSIC VAN musical assemblies at 17 schools
* Providing music specialists for in-class music in seven elementary schools in Oxnard
*Providing classroom music sing-a-long and dance materials on flash-drives for each school
*Providing a large trifold display sign to advertise music resources available through OMAG and local community concerts
*Obtaining and facilitating the distribution of FREE FAMILY CONCERT TICKETS at our OSD school sites
*Providing musical instruments for classroom teacher check-out
*Providing the following MONTHLY WORKSHOPS for OMAG OSD Teacher Reps (one per school):

October: TRIFOLDS;
November: SHAKERS Make--Take
January: INTERNET & MUSICAL VIDEOS
February: Nurturing Joyful Choral Singing
March: SINGING & PLAYING ROUNDS
April: MUSICAL GAMES
May : FUN DANCES FOR SWINGING INTO SPRING
June: END OF YEAR FEEDBACK & CELEBRATION;
We foster communication between OSD and local musical organizations:
We promote an ongoing city-wide conversation of how to bring quality music education to Oxnard students:
*OMAG made presentations IN COMMUNITY at the ROTARY Club
*OMAG distributed and collected data from surveys for teachers and parents
and THIS YEAR with your generous donation OMAG can do even MORE!
